A good story always starts like this... A long time ago (1985) in a far
off land (Hwy 10) a man named Bob Isbell took a gamble on a little restaurant off that
little old two lane highway. People said it was risky. No one EVER would drive out that
far to eat! But Bob was building his home out that direction and he wanted to live closer
to work, and besides, it was a pretty drive. People would come to see him and eat some of
Arkansas' best Hot Tamales. Bob had been in the food service industry for years and he knew
he could get people to do just about anything for his fresh, healthy cooking. Bob was right.
As a matter of fact, just about the whole town moved on out to Hwy 10, now Cantrell. The city
planners called it "expansion". We still think it was the Hot Tamales!
In 1996, Bob decided it was time to retire from the restaurant world, so he tipped his
hat to his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Heather Isbell. After Izzy's fourth expansion
(Bob had already pushed those walls 3 times earlier!), Robert and Heather decided to pack up
the crew and head further down Hwy 10 Cantrell. They built a brand spankin' new home for
Izzy's smack dab in the middle of what used to be an old little league baseball field out
at "The Ranch".
The baseball field has been replaced by more buildings, but Izzy's is still that
little restaurant out HWY 10. Everything on the menu is our own recipe and made fresh
everyday. From the herb and perennial gardens to the collage table tops (every table is
different!) you will always feel like family at Izzy's. It is a great place to meet friends!
Oh, and if you dont have any friends, let us know and we will fine you some!
